The prayer of salvation.
If you have never given your life to Jesus, this is the moment. Scripture says it's as simple as confessing with your mouth and believing in your heart. You can pray right where you are.
What Scripture says
“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”
You don't need a building, a pastor, or perfect words. You need a heart willing to surrender and a mouth willing to confess. That's it. That has always been it.
A prayer you can pray right now
If you don't know what to say, you can borrow these words. Pray them aloud, or in your heart — God hears both.
Father,
I confess that I am a sinner, and I have lived apart from you. I believe that Jesus is your Son. I believe that he died on the cross for my sins, and that you raised him from the dead.
Today I declare that Jesus is Lord. I turn from my old life and I give him mine. Forgive me. Cleanse me. Fill me with your Holy Spirit. Make me new.
From this day forward I belong to you. Help me to follow you, and to love the people around me. Thank you for hearing me, and for the gift of eternal life.
In Jesus' name,
Amen.
If you just prayed that prayer
Welcome to the family of God. This isn't the end — it's the beginning. Three quiet steps from here:
- Tell someone. Romans 10 says we confess with our mouth. Find a believer you trust, or a local church, and tell them what just happened.
- Read the Bible.Start with the Gospel of John. It tells the story of Jesus from a friend's point of view.
- Pray.Daily. Briefly. Honestly. You can add a personal prayer on PrayerMap right now and we'll lift it with you.
If you're praying for someone else's salvation
You can submit an intercessory prayer for salvation on PrayerMap. Salvation prayers appear in red on the map — a quiet reminder that the church around the world is contending for the souls of people they may never meet. Your prayer joins theirs.
